Making Things Right

Rethinking the Christian Response to LGBTQ+ People

“All of us can be a part of healing and reconciliation, which I propose is what matters most.”

–BRIAN NIETZEL

Making Things Right • The White Paper

Making Things Right • The Podcast

While my white paper lays out the blueprint for healing and reconciliation, my podcast series brings it to life through real conversations. In this series, friends and thought-leaders representing varied perspectives gather with common purpose: to share and listen, to find empathy, and to serve the LGBTQ+ community. These conversations will provide insights and ideas to help you find your place at the table and your unique role in making things right.

Get to know Brian

I’ve known two things about myself for about as long as I can remember:

Jesus is my hero.
And I’m gay.

For much of my life, my faith and sexuality were divided. But being torn between the two was not sustainable. Through a season of new conversations with God, I came out knowing my peace as a gay Christian man—undivided, finally. On the other side I’ve found a deeper faith and new conviction to heal wounds and restore faith within the LGBTQ+ community.

I co-founded Renovus in 2019, an organization that helps LGBTQ+ individuals rediscover Jesus. Apart from the hundreds of LGBTQ+ folks we serve, an inspiring byproduct has been the friends, families, and churches eagerly wanting to be a part of the restoration.

Here’s my mission I invite you to join: Creating new conversations and relationships between Christians and the LGBTQ+ community.

Are you weary of the division and debates?
Are you interested in more productive ways to engage?

Me too. Nice to meet you. Let’s do this… together.

Stay in The Know

Join the conversation and the cause of making things right. I’ll help keep us connected with updates, stories, podcasts, and even a book in the works.

(We’ll never sell your information—ever.)

Next Steps & Resources

Collaborative conversation is where we start, but let’s not stay there. The point of this conversation is to be compelled, to find “a-ha” moments and a personal conviction to help make things right. No matter where you’re at, I can connect you with trusted individuals and resources.

Below are some of my favorites, or connect with me and I can make some recommendations.

Such a wide and wonderful opportunity, and responsibility, await us.”
